Anyone have a good technique for rolling these? They seem to turn into a sh*tshow in my rig bag.

Pass the tag end through the non-buckle side of the buckle.
pull thru approx a foot of tag.
Find the center of the remaining loop.
Roll the loop on itself.
Once you get to the buckle, take the tag end, wrap it around the rolled loop and use the buckle to secure it.

takes a couple times to get it dialed and also takes longer than just overhanding them, but cleans strap piles up immensley, even 2,3,4 footers.

Here is a video that describes how to roll a cam strap. It takes time to do but gives you a really neat roll.

Enjoy !

“Hitch” the loop straps together at the loops to make one “standard ” strap. Then do the same rolling as cam straps shown/described above; just add extra length to the “pull through” to accommodate the bulk of the loops being hitched together.

I will sometimes roll the short cam straps as per the video

But most of the time I just take (for example) a 6 foot strap and use it as a holder for all the six foot straps by just camming them onto the holder strap.

same technique for all the various length straps I have. Then the entire mess goes into a mesh duffel bag from NRS. same technique for my loop straps. I connect the ends of the loop straps into one strap then attach them to a holder strap. Kind of messy but keeps everything together.

\Bottom line is what ever works for you. NRS used to sell a mesh small duffel bag with a holder strap across the bottom so you could clip cam straps or what ever, I never got around to buying one.

I have my straps marked by length next to the cam buckle. When I break the boat down, they get sorted by length and then daisy chained in groups of six. Then I drop them in separate stuff bags marked with "2' and 3'" straps, "Misc. 4' and 5'," '6', and 'long' for over six feet. These bags then get thrown in to a bigger bag so all the straps are in the same bag but easy to sort through.

I have my cam straps marked at the end...that way 1) they show up easy when the tail is hanging loose from teh roller storage and 2) if I cut them, I can mark the new length.

someone show me a picture of loop straps rolled up securely
