I came across a new shuttle service, Rapid River Shuttles, LLC, in the Salmon river valley and wondering if any of you guys have heard or used them and can offer a comment or two. The company is two years old and stationed in Riggins. Recommendations of other shuttle services are appreciated.
There are new shuttle company, but I spoke with the owner the other day. She has over 20 years of professional driving in various capacities including as a shuttle driver. She has some coupons on her website as well. We went ahead and booked three vehicles for a Hammer to Heller trip are taking in July. Super nice lady! Was able to chat on her website and call with my questions.

I would strongly recommend that you do a reference check on owners for a "new company". Wild River Shuttles had one year of good business before everything went to hell. Having been caught up in that debacle, I won't use a "new" company ever again. I may sound petty, but once you've been stranded for days and then had to run your own shuttles anyway after getting one car, you can tell me if my perspective is invalid.

This wa exactly my first thought. These crazy bastards are at it again...

If you search for "State name" & "sos business search" you will hopefully locate the secretary of state's business search webpage. Who you gonna call for a reference? The other shuttle companies?

Hence the subject of the post.

Details folks!

Many LLC's in Idaho have their businesses registered in Post Falls Idaho so that is not evidence of anything "shady". Second, the principal/mailing address for Rapid Rivers is in Cottonwood Idaho whereas the "problem shuttle service" was out of Salmon Idaho which are hours apart. Apples to oranges.

Sorry but Wild River Shuttles WAS NOT registered in Salmon and it was registered under a different name, same people.

The reason so many Idaho companies are registered out of Post Falls at the same address is there is a company called Registered Agents, Inc. located in Post Falls. Registered Agents, Inc is a national company that helps small business owners deal with small business professional services like registering with with the Secretary of State, legal advice, tax things etc. Nothing shady at all-just small business owners hiring someone to deal with paperwork so they can run their small businesses. Registered Agents does business in most states but to do so, has to have a physical location in those states to offer their registering services.

While I have not used the new shuttle service of out Cottonwood, ID, I grew up there. Did a few reference checks with people I know from my home town who know the shuttle folks. Sounds like good, salt of the earth people and they are not related to the problem company/ies out of Salmon. Grain of salt that I can't comment on their service as I haven't used it but I certainly would give them a try without much worry.

I'm assuming you are referring to Rapid River Shuttles. Yes?

On a separate note, and from personal experience, I don't understand why anyone would register with a third party registration company. Registering your company name, or dba, isn't difficult at all; It's just a matter of visiting the registrars office, or a satellite office, or by mail; and is much cheaper. However, with that said, sure, these third parties are legal and can provide a service but many use them to hide their actual physical address. Not that there's anything wrong with that, but it does pique curiosity, veracity and integrity.

Idaho REQUIRES all LLC to have a registered agent. Many/most LLC’s in the North Central Idaho area use a registered agent in Post Falls. This would be why there are so many shuttle companies that have Post Falls listed.

RRS posted a day or so on their Facebook ago that they were having a meet and greet in the first part of May in Cottonwood. Might be worth it to pop in, meet the owners and, check the vibe in person.

Again, personal experience with RRS has been nothing but wonderful for me.

It would be nice if someone from Blackadar would post on here what the deal is then... super confusing.
I just spoke to Blackadar. They are only requiring rentals for a shuttle on the Main Salmon. For the Middle Fork they do not require rentals and will do a stand alone shuttle. Just booked them for July.

When do you put in? We booked her for the 23rd and she does not appear to be affiliated with any of the bad White Water shuttles that had issues recently. But let us know what you think if you're using them before us!
Our launch date is July 15; take-out July 22. Doesn't appear I can be of much help since our dates are so close. If its any consolation, I do like her demeanor though; and as far as I know she is not affiliated with those other guys.

I agree seems like they are not related, we're going with her and will follow up if it's anything other than a great experience
