Hi guys i have always said i wanted to invent some kinda breathing tank for kayakers and low and behold somebody allready beat me to the punch! I found a company making a product called Rapid Air that is a tank that holds 15 breaths for a pined kayaker and Quick Air for self rescue or help rescue another paddler. Well i tried to call a ton of their "dealers" and no one still dealed with them and then i tried to call them and all i got was an answering machine. Does anyone know if this company is still around or if their is another product like that that im missing. Or does anyone have one they would want to get rid of? This product seems pretty cool and i would think it would save some lives!

The quick air is something I feel we all should paddle with.

it's $20 or $30, fits into the front pocket of your pfd, and could save a life.

Jeff & I played with setups to be able to breathe out of the boat, but I never quite got a setup that I liked. Carried with you it can give someone caught in a bad spot a bit of time so you can work on getting them out of where they are.

I like the quick air hose. The difference between it and a length of garden hose is that the valve you breath through exhales without sending the air back up the pipe so you don't rebreath used up air. Also, the valve keeps water from coming up the hose while you send it underwater down to someone's mouth.

I always have one in my boat.

In my mind, it is going to be used when someone is pinned and they have water gushing over their back with a small pocket of air to breath and they are getting too weak to hold their posture and the air pocket is getting smaller and smaller and I can reach them but can't upin them yet. In that fantasy situation I give them the hose so they can just relax and fold while we unpin the boat. It is a loooooong shot scenario, but who knows. It takes up no room in my boat and I wish more people carried them. I've handed out 2 to people.
