I have the Dry Box blue plastic in your URL.

Had reservations on it, but during a flip below Quartzite on Salt River several years ago, the cooking gear in it stayed 100 percent dry for a hour or so till raft was rescued.

Do not know how much it helps but I criss cross two cam straps across the box just as an safeguard to help prevent the rubber closure rope from inadvertently getting knocked off the hooks.

Do you know if they sell the first one that you listed? I checked out their website, and they look like a rental place.

I saw this pic from their site that shows a good pic of the box.
Camp Cook Set

Looks like galaxy cooler without the insulation. sweet. If it fits my boat I'd probably put that on my wishlist...
That looks like the old ones that NRS used to sell. 2 of my freinds have them and I have been scouring the ends world for.
If I find out where there at I'll let you know ...after i buy 2 of em

Here is our dry box. It's the “Action Packer” by Rubermaid.

We added some foam tape to the lid to improve the seal. It’s not 100% water proof, but they are relatively cheap, fairly large capacity, a lot lighter than same sized metal dry boxes, and you can find them at most big box stores. I am sure things would get wet in a flip, but we plan for that, and it has performed very admirably on many many river trips over the last 4 years.

I've got a pair of pelican 0350 cubes on my cat. When packed they just barely fit side by side if elevated slightly off the bottom of the boat. Mostly cooking and dry gear as they can raise the cg considerably. Weight is about 50lbs for both if empty. I always figure in an emergency ( pin ) I can chuck them off the boat and not have to worry about them sinking, leaking, or getting trashed

I wish they'd bring back the York Pack.

I think I have one of those cases. I got it with a boat. It seams to be a military item as it has #'s and codes stenciled on it. Bomber construction. I have seen a few like it for sale over the years, usually lined with lots of foam. They are made by an american company, but I cannot rmember the name, I wanna say it starts with a P. I'll empty mine out and see if I can find the manufacturers name. Seems like I was told that the military uses them for certain gear for helicopter drops

Picked up this link off another site. It was said to support a 250# person and used as a rower's seat

You probably got that from one of my posts. I have been using those for years. They are the most ridgid cheap plastic box I have found, and they have a rubber gasket. You can put 200+ pounds of man meat on there and it won't flex like others such as action packers. However $50 is too steep. I got mine for around $25 on sale. I know that Storables sells them for around $40. I would actually pay $40 for one. You have to trim the little outside "wing tabs" a bit under the outside of the lid with an angle grinder/cutter to get them to sit lower in a frame bay, but they are easy to cut off. I was just actually outside an hour ago packing one of these up with the Kni-co packer wood stove for a steelhead fishing trip down the Grande Ronde this week. Just sewed a Ti-Goat stove jack in my MSR Twin Brother so I can use the wood stove in there for winter steelhead multiday trips to the land of frost.

about 235 pounds of man meat on a Clavey flip seat bracket over the top of one of these boxes in the attached pics

and 195 pounds of man meat in the rower position for the way overloaded SDP
