Hey! thanks for the post, I am almost certain that is my buddies favorite kayak paddle, he lost it on 8/17 in U. Disaster. I believe it was a "Mitchell" or something, anyhow, I know he was bummed. Please hold on while I get in touch with him and try to link this up. He will be psyched, thanks!

 

Yes I am the fool that lost a kayak paddle at Disaster Falls on 8/17. If it is a black carbon fiber 202cm right hand control with slalom blades it is probably mine. It is a Mitchell, but the insignias are worn off the blades from age/use. Where did it end up? I was trying to reach it but then I was close to getting swept into Lower Disaster so I chose to let it go, get out, and help some friends that had pinned their raft on shallow rocks instead. Luckily Livenswell had my backup paddle on his raft. I have never lost a paddle on the river before and almost just took my paddle hands as a backup. That was day one of a 5 day trip and it would have been hard getting through Triplet and Hell's with paddle hands.
