I have a contigo ceramic in the shopping cart, and dug out the yeti my BIL gave the wifey last year. After extensive testing the yeti seems not to make the coffee metalic and the ozark trail seems to have similar performance. One big bummer is that my wife does appreciate a holding a warm mug and the vacuum mugs transmit no heat. I will say on the next trip, I am running an aeropress, manual grinder and either my trusty coleman or my biolite to heat the water. I will probably heat till boiling, and then let it cool a bit to get down to around 206.

Toadfish are my go-to all in one river cup/can cooler. https://toadfish.com/collections/drinkware

You can use it for the morning coffee, switch to can cooler, and then use it for that evening cocktail. They have lids to keep bugs/wate/dirt out and many different styles and sizes. The suction part actually works surprisingly well.

Google ceramic lined mugs. There are many options out there where the inside of a steel mug is ceramic lined.

One brand I like- - Sttoked sells great mugs ( sttoke.com) albeit pricey, they are solid and we love ours.

I also have one from Stanley and one from Contigo- both bought on Amazon. The Stanley is good, but it stained. The contigo did not, but someone said they got bought out.

they don’t leave a metalic flavor. I use a yeti for my cocktail mug.

Wondering what’s the best or favorite style coffee cup for camping. I’m pretty particular about my coffee, but around home I’m not above microwaving my warming coffee to get it back to hot. I don’t understand why but whenever I pour s fresh cup something interrupts or I get distracted... So, around the house I like double wall plastic cups. Generally don’t use metal cup around house. If I do, I’ll use a vacuum insulated style, the ones with lids keep coffee hot a long, long time.

Camping—it’s a different game. I generally will have a campfire, so I can place a metal cup strategically so as to keep warm or reheat a bit. So, no double wall or vacuum cup there. My backpacking buddy always carries a GI cup, so he tends to drain the coffee pot right off! I do like one with a lid so coffee stays warm a while off heat.

Exception to above is when I’m using a stove. I will often then use a vacuum insulated cup with a drinking lid. Stove time and space are too valuable a commodity plus many stove don’t turn down low enough to be workable for reheating.

Curious to see others’ thoughts and ideas.

Here it is
The Yeti with the hotshot lid is a great leakproof mug, omnidirectional drinking, durable - a little annoying that your nose hits the lid when drinking but it's a solid mug. Best mug ever made was the Thermos E3 but they don't make them anymore.

Rtic 20oz cup with handle, you can hang a ****** onto the handle which is handy once you finish your cup of coffee. Rtic cups are amazing for how long they keep coffee hot. I love to float on cold October mornings with a hot cup of coffee, all of the draws and slopes are socked in with fog and you just see tops of mountains rafting down the Salmon River.

I like to shotgun beers for breakfast, and pull from the flask / bottle for lunch... lol

In all seriousness yeti's cause I get them all the time through work for schwag and they work great. I wish Engel made a similar cup as I'm kind of an anti-yeti guy... We also keep a few single wall stainless cups in the box as well that we have collected from numerous keg cups at Gore Fest.

Whatever you do though, don't let your wife/significant other convivence you to let them use your favorite Nalgene for a bloodymary!

I use an old insulated Bodum stainless steel coffee mug, mostly because that is what I had around that fit my coffee cup criteria, and because it has proven Grumman-like unkillable.

Rtic makes a great cup, keeps coffee hot for hours, the next morning, will probably still have ice in from the nite before (whiskey drinks), I built a cup holder out of aluminum rings, just right of my rowing station, that way I nurse a hot cup of coffee for the fall bird hunt, love that cup of coffee when it is cold. The cup is always handy for river drinks. Glue a small d-ring to it if you want to bean it off in big water. (caribiner)

Coffee in the morning. Can coozy at night. 1 to do it all

This is the way!
Only drinking vessel I bring on the river. Coffee in the morning, can coozy during the day, whiskey tumbler at night.
If you want hot coffee on the boat this isn't your jam, I drink my coffee in camp and switch to beer once the boat is rigged. YMMV
