Mark....I'm sure Partner would beat it if ya call and talk to them. I can attest to the Partner quality. With respect to the heat capacity in btus....just dial up the regulator to increase the flow. I have mine set at 200,000++ but I melting bronze, old scrap competitors raft frames as well as voltswagon transmissions.

REI has the mountaineer too... and you can memlov your way to 20% off for another day. To me the difference is burner capacity, the CC is double what the PS puts out. That's a big difference to me and my morning coffee. Like I said, I really like the Everest I have. I wouldn't trade it for a partner.

Let's review:

The Partner Steel 18" 2 Burner Propane Stove with Lid is $230. No wind goodies.
The knock off MOUNTAINEER 2 BURNER 24" ALUMINUM STOVE is $184. Discount one more day for REI Members. It has windscreens.

To get a Partner Steel with close to 24 inches of cooking space WITH windscreens one needs to go with a:

Partner Steel 22" 2 Burner Propane Stove with Wind Screen for $295 / free shipping. Its windscreen is bigger and better in appearance.

The 23.5 inch Everest from Camp Chef looks to be a coleman 'style' high heat affordable stove for $80 with the current REI benefit:

I was in the "partner to expensive camp/lower heat output than other cheaper stoves" for the last couple decades. 2 years ago, I got a big fat tax check because I was overpaying for a few years and not properly taking the deduction for self employed health care premium payment, and amended my tax returns. So I decided to get the smaller 4 burner break apart Partner. Prior, I had several other way cheaper, but good, and higher output burner stoves. Bottom line, don't think I would ever go back after getting the Partner stove.

Partner Steel makes 10 different models. Camp Chef makes 1 comparable model.(not including the blasters). I really like my partner stove it would take years of reliable feedback and a large price difference for me to consider switching. I did have to clean my Partner Steel after about 300 days of use. If I where considering a new stove purchase/upgrade and had the $ I'd buy Partner Steel Stove 100%. If I didn't have the $ I'd keep using my trusty Coleman until I did. I bought my Partner Steel stove during Cascade Outfitters Made in the USA sale over the 4th of July I'm not sure if they still have the Sale but I'm sure a budget minded boater can find a deal. Made in the USA and on the way to Stanley for me. Cheers
