Hi everyone,

My name is Valerie and I'm from Belgium. I plan on doing a road trip in west-usa (California, Arizona, Utah, Nevada) in September 2022.
I would really like to do another class IV rafting trip, but it seems like the season is over in September.
Can someone please recommend me a trip that is still going that late?

Help is much appreciated.

Kind regards, Valerie

The Upper Klamath in Southern Oregon is amazing in September and normally has day time peaking flows (hydropower production) throughout the fall. This year there is some dam maintenance occurring September 20 to October 8, during which time there won't be peaking flows. If I recall correctly they also did maintenance in October of 2020. It might be reoccurring, so I would plan a trip date prior to September 20ish 2022. Learn more about the Upper Klamath here: 2021 Upper Klamath River Rafting - Klamath River

Are you looking for a day-trip or multi day trip? Rogue is good in September even though there's lower flows. Commercial trips are three to four days usually.

One big day on big water would suggest maybe White Salmon.

Yes, we were looking to do a one day-trip. I don't think we will make it to WA.
But thanks for your reply!

If you make it to NM, the Rio Chama might still be good (release season goes until Sept 15). Otherwise Westwater near Moab is probably your best bet east of the Sierra.

The Tuolomne Wild & Scenic River in California is an excellent class 4 river.
Sierra Mac does trips there. I go privately too, maybe timing would allow.
