So, from time to time I get asked about gear and techniques for taking photos on the river. Therefore, I decided to put together a short tutorial of the things that seem to work best for me -- through lots of practice and really bad photos along the way. If you're just getting into photography, hopefully some of this information will prove useful.

Good job with the explanation of composition.
In all my years of teaching high school photo and video I find that the cameras are pretty much smart enough now to get a reasonable exposure.
But unless you take the time to arrange what you see, your pictures will always continue to suck.
