So when do you think the flows will start going down a bit? I'm sure this is pretty sweet for the kayakers and it's making me do some thinking on getting one next season. However, I'm in a duckie for this season. Last weekend my buddy went through Yarmony on the Upper C along with 8 other duckies- all of them took a swim right after the rock. He said there was no avoiding the hole after the first big rock on the right and everyone flipped.

What do you think- 2 more weeks if the weather stays warm?

I was wondering the same. I'm a new comer heading to the Upper C this weekend and it looks to still be running fairly high. I'll be rowing (15' raft) for basically the second time although we'll be with some experienced folks.

Anyway, heard the same thing on Yarmony...go left!

I guess he was talking about after you go left past the big rock on the right, there was either a wave train, or hole, or maybe a gator, i don't know, that flipped 9 duckies right in a row. Maybe I'll try it out this weekend and see what happens.

More like four months when it starts snowing.

This should be one of those years that people stop boating not when the water goes away, but when it gets too cold and snowy.

Snow is going fast now in the high country. Time to start hoping for rain, haven't had any in weeks. What do you suppose the person in that 9th ducky was thinking as his turn came around?

May the river run forever!

I would say the Arkansas is going to run higher than normal into August or September (depending on this year's monsoon). Lake Creek above Twin Lakes is above 1400 and 1100 below, and Clear Crk. above the reservoir is 569 and they are only letting 100 cfs out. They are storing water so when the natural flows drop off they can provide additional releases. I wouldn't be surprised if Brown's was still flowing 1500-1800 come labor day (as long as it rains eventually).
