When Does Deso Loose The Mosquitos?

never had an issue with the many early august trips we have done. mosquitos normally start to abate when the water drops drastically so they should already be reducing in numbers.

Then the flies kick in.

The last 2 years, low water years, the bugs were virtually non existent by mid July. I assume it will be a bit later this year.

Never had experienced biting flies on Deso until the trip that ended the 4th this year. Floated multiple times a year between 2007-2012 and never had seen them. Maybe I am just lucky but August has always been pleasant....granted, we can often walk in the river next to our boat as fast as it floats.
