Looking to sell 1 set of Carlisle oars with blades. Both sets are 8.5' but one are 2 piece and the other one piece. I have extenders in box I throw on occasionally. Any recommendations on which set you'd keep? Thanks!
Unless you have a specific need for the breakdown oars (flying or packing them in) I'd ditch them. I rowed a friends mini-me with breakdown carlisles and they were heavy pigs.
One on either side .. I'd keep them both. I have, on occasion, busted or lost an oar. Better to have a spare for your spare on a big trip. I've never required that second spare, but what are the consequences of needing it when you don't have it?
I also agree with running with two spares. I have never needed the second but after needing one it would increase the pucker factor of no longer having a spare. It's also a great spot to park your oars keeping them outboard of the tubes.
