welding aluminum pipe to cast aluminum lowpros

Yes you can weld them together, but the weld will probably crack and break with the flex of the frame, especially if it's on a cat.

The new LowPro fitting are forged. That should make a better weld, but why is it an issue. The stainless steel through bolt is a good repairable connection.

My purpose was to weld a larger pipe that would go over the NRS tube in order to create a jig for drilling holes. but I just found out today that the existing lopros are not drilled the same so there is no such thing as a consistent pattern to create a jig pattern. The details are in my other post about lopro offsets. Thanks for all of your help though.
