Has any one been down to the rio chama, el vado to big eddy recently?
Gauge claims 1150 c.f.s. and has been that level for a while, is it actually running, or just ice pushing the gauge up?
May be to good to be true, but would be really awesome if it was running and reasonably ice free!
Any beta greatly appreciated!

It's running

I'm pretty sure it's running since both gauges (the one below El Vado Dam and the one above Abique) are reading the same. You can always call Coopers, I'm sure they'll confirm flow and would know more about ice potential.

They've been running it like a hose all fall, I'm not sure why. I had a great post-season run in September and figured it would be the end of the runable flows, but aside form a few days here and there it's been well above runable.

You might want to call the BLM as well (Taos field office), they should be able to warn you if you're thinking about running it and they are about to cut the flow to nothing, which could happen at any time.
