Here's the scoop. It'd be good to have some folks from the local boating community help out with this. --Andy

WHAT: SOUTH PLATTE RIVER CLEAN-UP DAY
NIMBY FEST 2004

WHEN: Saturday September 18, 2003 8:00 am to 12:00 @ Fishback Landing (just upstream of REI).

WHY: NIMBY FEST is put on by the Greenway Foundation. NIMBY, which stands for Not In My BackYard, is an event to clean up the areas along the Urban South Platte River for all to enjoy.

The Skinny:
For this year's NIMBY FEST, The Greenway Foundation is looking for a few good men and women to help make this a successful event by volunteering. Wear grubby clothes and be ready to pull lots of plastic off the river bed, & lots of trash, shopping carts, old tires, etc. from the banks.

FYI:
The Greenway Foundation is a non-profit organization that focused upon enhancing and preserving the South Platte River and tributaries. To learn more about NIMBY Fest and the Greenway Foundation please visit their website: http://www.greenwayfoundation.org/

Apparently they're going to need folks in boats. Here's the person to contact:
