Has anyone done the Upper Rio Grande just below the reservoir this season? We are thinking of putting on tomorrow and curios about conditions/snags/etc.
Thanks, KB

Well Nordic did you do the run and was it clean. Our gang of western slope IK'rs is going to run it next weekend if flows hold together. Anyone else run it recently??? This is where Mountainbuzz used to be very helpful but has been slacking lately!! Sharing info is critical to this community and that definitely seems to be fading greatly!!

Yes, we had a super fun run on Monday, putting in at 30mile campground, flow about 1,175. There is a tight squeeze at river hill campground with a strainer on the left and an overhanging/leaning evergreen on river right. We made it through fine with our packrafts and our 11’ paddle raft, but it would have been tough with an oar rig I think. Hope that helps....

thank-you so much for that update Nordic and welcome to the Buzz. This kind of feedback is what makes this site so valuable to boaters so thanks again. Our IK group will make definite plans for this run or the Crystal at Avalanche creek for this Sunday. Amazing water year for sure then you have the fantastic Taylor till October when everything else dries up. Cheers!!!!!
