Was just wondering about the log across Rattlesnake rapid? Is it river wide or possible sneak line somewhere. Looking at doing it this Sunday with 2 IK's and hardshell kayak. Any boaters in area with recent float on the redbridge canyon run please. Thanks!

I kayaked it on 7/2 and the log can be ducked under on the left. Out of control boating or swimming through the crux of rattlesnake would be bad though

Yeah, that's kinda my real worry. This rapid has given problems in the past, as I mostly do classIII runs. That's why I wait for flows to come way down to even attempt it. But I really love this run and river, I just need to run it clean.. The drops on this run never give me a problem, but I think at 450-500 I,ll be O.K. Thanks!!

you could always take your crew and go clear the wood…
Yea I plan on taking my chainsaw, but this rapid is intense and long, so I,d have to wait for really low flows in late fall or early winter. We'll assess it as we scout, cause there is a road that goes right next to the entire run. This rapid really gets to me, so I'm going to have to conquer my fear. We shall see.
