Kayaks are included with surfboards and windsurfers now. A boat bag can replace your largest piece of checked luggage, with upto 4 pieces (boat and paddle=2), skirts and vests stowed up in the boat don't count. As long as the total size is under 109" and 70lbs., there's no additional fee.

Lookis like i'll be flying UAL.

I called back and asked the reservationist to send me a copy of what she read to me, then was told she made a mistake. It's $80 each way.
