Hi party people!
Thought I'd throw this out there and see if I have any takers.

I have a pair of 9.5' cataract oars - they're in good shape with rope wraps, magnum blades, and counter weights in the handles (they're yellow - if that matters).

Only problem is... they're too long for my narrow-ish setup (I really need 9 footers...)

Anybody want to do a straight-up trade for a similar set of oars? Have a pair of 9' cataracts that have always been a teensy weensy bit too short? Sawyer polecats? Something in that category? :)
Not looking for anything Carlisle, por favor.

I cut a 9.5 and a 10 into a pair of 9 footers recently, it took about ten minutes, cut the handle end with a grinder and cut off wheel or a hacksaw, then slit the cut off end and pry the handle out with a flathead screwdriver, epoxy them back in and that's it

Ya a chop saw with an appropriate blade is a way better tool. I've had plenty of success cutting the blade end off too. Which end you go for depends on the oar.
