So i've just bought a tohatsu 20" sailpro LPG 5 hp motor (Deso!). In reading the manual it mentions the motor might need a high altitude kit for above 1000m. Anyone out there have any advice on this add on for the motor? Used it? Haven't used it? Thanks in advance.

Also, plan to be pushing 4 family boats during high wind periods on Deso, planning a dedicated 17 lbs tank for this. If this sounds off or crazy, please do weigh in.

We have the 5hp Tohatsu as well. It has mostly been on Ruby and Cat, but it seemed to work fine on a lake at 5K' without the high altitude kit. 17# of propane should be about right, but I'd bring another small tank just in case.

Watching this thread. Thinking of getting a propane motor for takeout on the Tuolumne in California.
