I was up cashing some chips in on the Poudre last night. Three of us put in just above Pineview. As a friend ran shuttle the other in the group wanted to look at Pineview so we walked down the road from the put-in just above the falls and left all our crap in that turn out. After about 5 min we walked back up the road. As soon as we came in sight of the pull off two sketchy mexican gangstar dudes shaved heads and inked up everywhere, jumped into thier car the driver was still in the car for a total of three guys and speed away. Now we did not have anything taken but they were just about to i am positive. The car was a late 80's Toyota Camry red/beige. I could not get the plates but.... Be on the lookout for this car and these motherf*&#ers. I have read some posts about problems earlier. STREET JUSTICE is in order. Sorry to offend any Mexican brothers and sisters out there but thats their discription.

PS my friend ended up swimming pineview (case of beer to me!!) :evil: and lost his black werrner paddle with orange tape. If found it belongs to Mark Holm 303-926-1286

PPS the surfing was great on bridges and i saw no other boaters!!

These sound like the same dudes I had a run in with a few years ago up there (2001 or 2002?)

They were scouting my gear and boat (actually picked it up), I quietly got my SKS out of the truck and asked them if they were wanting to buy it. I normally don't carry that kind of hardware, but I had been to the range that morning. They got my point.

Leave the justice to the police, get their plates next time, maybe carry a disposable waterproof camera and take a pic of them

Tuesday night some of us were paddln' the Big Thompson, while scouting above Drake from a turn out, this "very non paddler looking" (like a heavyset Beavis) dude asks me where and how much my helmet would sell for. Since I was wearing my creeking lid, (old school Pro Tec) I told him any paddle or skate shop for $25-$30 new. Then I woundered how much shit he might have ripped off and was trying to unload. In hindsight I should have only mentioned paddle shops and $5, maybe it would discourage people from ripping off "stinky cheap paddle gear." Who buys this stuff anyway?

Yeah, like the guys that stole my ZG48 on the Poudre. They also stole my still-wet paddling shorts. These stink so bad, not even I want to touch them with my bare hands. What do these guys do with the stolen goods?
