Just curious where is the best place to camp the night before put in? And can you leave your boats at the put in the day before, I know not ideal but that place is in the middle of know where, and may run a shuttle the day before...

Give Diane a call at Hells Canyon Shuttles. She improved the lot behind her store & told me last year she would rent to clients. Convienent, nice, and easy.

There are many pull outs on the road coming up from the south which work fine for a late night bivy. Diane's place is great too - they are the friendliest shuttle drivers i've ever encountered.

We stayed in the lot behind Hell's Canyon Shuttle two years ago. It was perfect, we rolled in around midnight and woke up to fresh coffee in the store. If you are getting in earlier in the day it is still an option, but Hell's Canyon Park is closer and it is nicer camping by the river even if it is shared with power boaters.

we have stayed at copperfield park before and it was great... Last year we stayed in the lot behind hells canyon shuttles and it was great.. They have berrys there you can pick and eat.. a georgous lawn to sleep on.. It looked like a fairway on a golf course. And they make you free coffee in the morning... They ran our shuttle so it was free for us to use.. If you are showing up mid day and it's too hot they will send you down to copperfield just because it is cooler down there and it will nuke their lawn..
