To be clear, I was in the French Alps, Chamonix/Argentiere. Thanks for the earlier comments to my post in the snowrider's forum about Chamonix.

The items of note here are, 1) They have the best snow in the last 10 years, 2) We got a foot of powder on Wednesday, Feb 18, and 3) the conditions were nearly identical to those found in Colorado (sunny, light powder, temps ranging from 20-40). We stayed at the Hotel De La Courone in Argentiere. A was a very nice place and quite affordable for 4 people.

skiing above the clouds

Nothing finer than skiing above the clouds, 'cept waking up and unzipping your tent then skiing above the clouds. Looks pretty sweet, hope you got come culture with your french friend if the conditions were the same.

what do you call a frechman on a snowboard?
