A big thanks to all who took time to help after shoulder dislocation on gore-after the meat. I am seeing dr. abbott in vail on friday for mri etc. , he is mentioned favorably in old posts, any comments on his expertise?

Dr. said-do not put shoulder back in on river, wait for drugs and x-ray. I would recommend all creekers carry sling and pain killers for walk out-i walked from gore to kremmling with dislocation and would have given anything for some pain killers to get me through.

again-thanks to everyone

see ya next season

Dr. Abbott did my shoulder in April. I dislocated in Gore two years ago, then again on Big South. Second time I did it pretty good. Quite a bit was done to my shoulder, so I took the season off. I had about 12 weeks with little to no external rotation. Definately pleased with him. I live in Steamboat and chose to head out of town for more of a shoulder specialist. He seems to be pretty progressive. He did surgery on part of my shoulder, that a doctor here said basically it couldn't be fixed. Drop me a line if you have any questions. As far as not putting it back in, I would have to disagree. Better to have someone who knows what there doing, but I advise to get that sucker back in the joint. All my damage seemed to be from dislocation not resetting it. Good luck with the surgery.
