Another way to make miles is to not stop for lunch. Quick snacks and drinks on your own boat in flat water..or raft up in flat water and share food. You're all rigged and moving..why make an extra stop?

Who stops for lunch? Every trip I've ever been on we put out the fixings for lunch at breakfast, and everybody brought a tupperware or something, made what they wanted to eat and ate it in their boat. Stopping for lunch easily Burns an hour or more, especially in the shoulder seasons when everybody is getting in and out of their dry suit and associated wet gear.. in the summertime, it's generally just another opportunity to bake..
