So for anyone who didn't realize...Cottonwood Creek out Joe Reservoir is running but will have a short season. Was running 600-700cfs today which is a great level & fairly juicy. Hasn't run like this since 2011...So have at it while you can because it is an excellent high desert run.
Unfortunately I cracked my boat at the beginning of the run & had a bit of an issue in the run out of Box Car rapid with my heavily laden bathtub & Now wondering just where that boat might be.
Boat (Yellow Jackson SuperFun) an accessories all have phone numbers so if anyone happens to find anything please give me a shout. Thanxs
Also I noticed today that everyone was taking out at the parking lot that has the bathroom just as the canyon starts to tighten which is just down from Box Car Rapid... Don't sell yourself short...There"s still very good boating for well over a mile down to what in the past was always used as the the take out that had the fence to deal with which made it a bit heads up... Fence at this point is no longer across the river & since there is a low water vehicle crossing there it provides a nice eddy for take out.
