Group of us doing a low water run of Browns tomorrow and wondering if anyone else will be in the area to shuttle with. Are the commericial people on the river yet and if so are they willing to pick up carless boaters? Any info would be appreciated.
Don't count on the commercials. Some will charge you, others won't for liability reasons. One in 20 might give one person (female) in your crew a lift to the nearest spot on their way, or back to their shop, but that's about it. If you kick it out to Stone Bridge (past Hecla) you are closer to a main road and will have better luck hitching a ride back to Fishermans, but not Ruby Mountain.
I hitch parkdale all the time, never gotten a ride from commercial's yet. Not female I guess. However I get rides fairly easily from the nicest people. Browns however is a long walk back to the main road before you could hitch.
