My only red flag is that the pic showed the wide 7 inch blade. AND it’s friggin snapped off at the root for gods sake!! I would hit up my local sawyer rep before buying this unless you have the skills to bore what’s left outa there AND replace it with something major stout and make the hole line up just right etc etc. Not a easy task by any means. Looks like wall art with a great story behind it to me. Sorry you broke your nice blade. I have banged mine into lots of river bottoms with no damage. Do you have the short section? That would make the project simpler.

On the bright side, blades do make for a nice charcuterie tray

While our warranty does not cover accidental breakage or misuse, it does cover materials defects. From the description of the event, it does sound like accidental damage however.

It's not possible to "drill out" this blade for repair work.

I have broken two of these.One in Double Drop and the other in Lava. Two flips.Will not use again !

PS: FWIW- Sent broken blade to Sawyer at my expense to see if they would warranty or find flaw. Basically told me to get lost.

When I kill a set of skis, if they’re still presentable, I turn em into a wall hanger. You might have a place to hang your hat on your hands. Or an oversize groover ‘key’
