We’ve got a launch for the full San Juan in 6/25. Kids age 8 and 6 have sit on top kayaks and love them. 8 year old is strong and athletic. Anybody run it with kids at high water? Is there a level at which it’s all moving fast and you wouldn’t take the sit on tops?
Currently it’s running around 9k, higher than we’ve ever run it. I don’t want to bring and carry them in a raft, but also don’t want to wish we had them. Biggest worry is it’s too big and they get flipped or scared. Is there enough flat water for them to play in or small wave trains that have nice pools below.
Last year, they loved the flats in them, we did the upper section low and slow.
Thanks for any advice, feel free to share tips or experiences.
