Hey pine tree, you a tortoise walker? Just asking- saw the picture.

I was down at the salt just after the recent peak, and the daily section road was washed out at cibecue creek. Also there were some BIG rocks on the road before there- we had to clear a way through to get as far as cibecue, AND some more fell while we were paddling. When we got to the truck to shuttle back, there were some more big rocks about 150' from my truck. There were no envelopes at the self checkin, so we didn't leave any money, and the store is closed and boarded up. We only did the daily, and seemed as if there were more gravel bar thingys- at about 1500? 2000?cfs I don't think I could have gotten a raft through without some humping over rocks.

After that we went and did the lower tonto box and we had to carry boats about 400 yards becasue of some washouts at the takeout. We snagged a local at the mailboxes at Jakes corner about 10am after the mail was delivered to help us with our shuttle. $40 did the trick.

I was on it on January 29th. Around 4k. The road had been worked and was good up to Cibecue Creek. The high water washed out the cement slab past the creek. It may be a while before they can fix that. Friends rafted down to Gleason Flats the week after I went. The road to Gleason is good. A lot of new rock debris in the channels, below 1500 is going to be interesting but I will have to wait to find out myself.
