This year was the first year my wife joined me in the click fest. At 7am PST she saw all the “available” Main Salmon permits and excitedly clicked on her date……only to be met with the “error no dates available”. “Why does anybody do this!!” So much anxiety.
At 8am PST however, she snagged a July 19 Hells Canyon. Now she knows the sting of defeat and the thrill of winning. She’s so stoked. I hope she brings me along!

Tilting at windmills here, cuz wreck.gov isn't going to change for me, but are there any thoughts on a follow-up lottery that would automatically roll over anyone that was not awarded in the first round? Could be an abbreviated time frame, say one week to confirm? Seems a little more reasonable than everyone logging in at the same day and time, and potentially competing with bots (if they're a thing....)
I also saw available dates prior to 8am, and they gave the error saying have to wait until lottery. But what is weird is it showed them on my laptop, but not my phone.
either way, when the time hit, it either showed no longer available or too many people trying to book that date. And then nothing.

That’s essentially what happens anyway. Cancellation day is now a de facto lottery; it would make much more sense to just make it official.

Well maybe a random cancellation will happen lol! My wife texted me a screen shot of July and august dates but I can’t get them to post. So funny all,” which date do you want?” Lol she learned a little today about the rec gov sting. In better news I spent the day buried in snow and sun shining. Could see the Tetons in all their glory. Just magic…except the 600lb snowmobile stuck in 10 feet of powder lol! Stupid Rec gov buttholes!

I think it’s random so you have to check 9000 times a day and feel weird about yourself. If you get one you owe me a spot for telling you.

To improve my odds I need to start drinking a quart of water at bedtime - that's one middle of the night alarm I can't afford to ignore.
Getting re-lottery permits is a full time job - that doesn't pay!

You’re on to something BIG NOW how about if you didn’t apply for the original lottery you can‘t get a cancellation. We all paid our $6.00 and the rest of these bottom feeders with the bots can snag a cancellation with having any skin in the game.
I have another more extreme but reasonable idea as well and before anyone else claims the brain fart how about if you originally choose that date and were DENIED your first in line for the lottery with the other LOOSERS that chose that date before it goes out to the FILTHY MASSES!!.

Good job Charlie looks beautiful and you lived. 😜I went to the local ski area early and got on Elon Musks private internet that the area has. Might as well have used 1993 DSL. Never saw any of the good shit so I snagged a September San Juan for 10. 10 because that’s how many inches of snow there was.
So here’s the deal I’ll trade 9 spaces on that trip for me and my Entourage on a prime MFS.
Ramshorn debris flow gone, sunny weather, no fires, and steady flows at 3 feet trip. I have a Eco safe groover but somebody else will have to carry it because I’m allergic to shit. I can’t bring any other gear because my boating and rigging skills are pretty lame and all that stuff costs a lot of money.
