Hey RHT Boaters,
My friends and I had a nightmare of a time trying to get three nights on Ruby-Horsethief for a busy long weekend. I ended up settling for Friday(Black Rocks 1), Saturday(May Flats) since it was all that was available at the time. My friend was able to pick up an upstream campsite for Thursday night so we could piece it together that way. We made a call to the ranger to see if all was well with this plan or if there was a way to combine our trips and they basically said this was not an option and our only option was to cancel and try to pick it up again. We really don't want to do that. We are floating from Rimrock BTW.
We are not trying to cheat the system, but we only have this one set of dates to make the trip and that was the only way to book before all the sites were full. Seriously, it was cutthroat.
So... Any suggestions? How bad would it be to just run as-is and try to sign in at the put-in under the radar? Has anyone else found a solution to this glitch in the new system?
