On January 15, we're holding a post-season Ruby-Horsethief review meeting designed for private boaters. The meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, January 15, 5:30-7:30 pm, at Two Rivers Convention Center in Grand Junction.

In 2012, we implemented the first season under the new permit system. The purpose of this upcoming meeting is to talk with private boaters about "lessons learned", reviewing what worked and what didn't, from both the BLM and private boater perspective.

Please join us for this meeting if you have information to share about how the permit season worked for you, and/or have an interest in hearing what our park rangers and staff learned and observed during this first season. We want to evaluate our system as needed to ensure that it operates as well as possible for all our boaters. With fees beginning in 2013, we're especially interested in making sure that the system works well.

We'll do a short powerpoint at 5:30 to share the numbers we've compiled and some observations from our staff, and then will be available for more specific conversations for the remainder of the evening.

Thank you,
Katie Stevens,
McInnis Canyons National Conservation Area Manager

any way you can post a summary of that meeting and maybe get some feedback from those of us who love that river but live a days drive away?
