Royal Gorge Whitewater Festival

The Royal Gorge Whitewater Festival is here. Join us on Friday and Saturday at Centennial Park in Canon City, Colorado for the fun and remember it is all about the “Boats, Bands, & Beer!” We have several events for everyone and I have put a schedule of just the events below. We would love to have your participation and yes there is a prize package associated with each event and most of them are cash, beer, or both. Remember this festival is a fundraiser with a majority of the proceeds going toward river improvements and future expansion of the whitewater park. We also use this as an opportunity to display all of the outdoor activities one can enjoy in the Royal Gorge Region. We do appreciate your continued support. From this point forward all registrations will take place at the Registration Tent in Centennial Park or for just the downriver races, at the AAE Beach in Parkdale.
We did have to cancel the Kayak Big Air competition due to bank erosion from high water.


Events for Rafters:
Downriver Raft Race through the Royal Gorge with a $1,000 prize purse
Expression Session (freestyle event where rafts, kayaks, sup’s, river boards, and duckies all go head to head)
Rafting Company Battle (This is a two man raft race and we provide the rafts. There will be some gates to navigate. This is for raft companies only and is free.)
R-2 Raft Cross (Open to anyone and again we provide the rafts. There will be some gates to navigate)

Downriver Kayak Race through the Royal Gorge
Expression Session (freestyle event where rafts, kayaks, sup’s, river boards, and duckies all go head to head)
Kayak Boater X (Kayaks go head to head and have to navigate some gates)

Events for SUP
Expression Session (freestyle event where rafts, kayaks, sup’s, river boards, and duckies all go head to head)
SUP Cross (more experienced paddlers)
SUP Sprint (novice and less experience paddlers)
