I'm trying to contact River Runners Transport to set up a shuttle for an early April Gates trip. I have attempted calling and email and not getting any where. I'm assuming that they are not currently in the office, as it's quite early for Dinosaur trips. Curious if anyone has any other information on how to get in contact early season.

Cheers!

First email reponse I got from earlier this month was quick reply and basically referred me to their website. The website was completely offline for a few days in early March, so I emailed again. Took three or so days but Melanie did get back to me to confirm our shuttle in June. Hoping it is just the early season and not a sign of them having issues as they have always done good for our trips.

No likely about it, my dash was cleaner than I remember and the floor was vacuumed. If your buddy shows up with shitty tires, he might even get his truck re Tired, seriously, he went and put tires on my buddy's truck with two flats and two baldish.

They simply outlasted everyone else.. Not a whole lot of money in the shuttle business for an honest operator..

On Deso, they apparently had their "license" suspended year before last due to complaints, but it's hard to tell. The woman that runs it, said it was a "paperwork snafu" and the BLM said they couldn't talk about it, but it was due to an "internal investigation"..

Doesn't sound like a "paperwork" snafu..

I'd sooner walk than let them anywhere near my vehicle again, had 3 bad experiences, that increased in intensity until the last. Apparently I don't learn.. When Herm Hoops was alive, he kept them in check for the most part, but now.. RIP Herm..

Like I said, many threads here on the Buzz detailing people's "issues" to put it nicely with them.

It’s well known about your issues with RRT. I’ve had a lot different experiences with them all positive. I also carry insurance in case something happens and realize there is a lot of risk that you need to assume when you contract with a shuttle service.
How about taking some personal responsibility for not having insurance to soften your loss.

Waiting for a raging response. 🤬

I've been using River Runners shuttle for many years without a hitch. They let you fill your water jugs at their store as you pass through Vernal. Melanie is a pleasure to work with. Keep bugging them and she will get back to you.

If you go back through old threads about River Runners you'll see the same person popping up to complain about them.....go figure.

Gotta be a law against that... If not, there should be... But thankfully one can always do their own shuttle, it's not like it's Deso long..
6-1/2 hours round trip and you have to go back up after to get your vehicle up top.
Or, depending on where your coming from, drop a vehicle on the way in and run the full shuttle on the back end. Plus you're now driving an extra vehicle.

Like Big Wave, I've also only had positive experiences with them. They ran 5 Dinosaur trips for us in the past 4 years.

They also limped my trailer to the takeout after breaking a leaf spring in a very near collision on some icy roads back in October .

Have used RRT for years for multiple Deso as well as Gates of Lodore trips, nothing but positive experiences so far. Melanie has always been a pleasure to speak with and had solid advice as well.
Same, I've used River Runners for years, many Deso's and Lodore's we've never had an issue. I've always been happy with Melanie's customer service granted it seams they can be a bit hard to get ahold of pre and post season.

RRT ran shuttle for me just a few days ago, they're definitely active right now. There's several email addresses on their website but the "correct" one for now seems to be [email protected] and they responded fairly quickly

As far as issues with them, it's been a mixed bag in my experience. They've run many shuttles successfully for me, my family, and my boating friends, but they also damaged 3 out of 5 vehicles in my group (if memory serves) on a deso shuttle in 2019. In particular they basically abandoned my car on the side of the road in Price UT and made zero effort to tow it to get fixed or even reach out to the emergency contact I listed with them. In general I'd describe them as hard workers but somewhat lacking in professionalism

I'm sorry if you have been attempting to contact our office; we have been dealing with some medical issues that have taken us away from home over the past few months. If you call and don't leave a message I won't know who to call back. Hopefully the medical issues are resolved but please leave a message and I will get back to you as soon as possible. We have forwarded our calls from the office to my cell phone and I will call as soon as I can.
