boat. Up to class VI. I don't do drugs exceptions, (coffee, occasional beer). Don't mind if others imbibe, just as long as running the river safely is the main priority. Family friendly on class III < rivers and dependent on participants experience. Experienced on all rivers between Salt and Selway.

Hey, it's worth a try!

So what happened immediately after the photo was taken. I assume that it is your foot and throw bag. Did you have to vacate your position because it looks like that six people, raft and whatever gear they have are headed right towards you. Holy shit.

That sure looks like the scout rock for Warm Springs

Over the years I got quite a few runs on the Yampa

My guess is higher water and plus one on the guess
that raft went direct into the big hole
but the raft just might be big enough and loaded enough
to blast through the hole for one heck of a ride

a really good picture, hopefully the OP will tell us for sure
where the photo was taken

Warm Springs 18,000cfs approx. Late May 1997 Private trip. Boat missed the rocks by just a couple feet. Maintained ferry angle pulling to the right missing the hole. Second pic is a different trip, 2011 scout rock under water 24,000cfs. A 27', pontoon boat who could not miss the hole flipped later that day. Warm Springs does NOT wash out in higher flows.

I celebrated too early.
Water was dropping quickly on us, Had a super fun hit up high, didn't make the move right, nearly downstream flipped by parking on the rock that makes the Maytag hole.
