There is an awesome deal on a remix 59 right now, that I am wanting to get. But I am not sure if the 59 is the right size for me.

I see the 59 is for weights 110-200
and the 60 for 130-220.

I'm 5'8, about 160 (hoping to get to 150 before the spring though), with size 8 feet.

Is the 59 too small?

I'm hardly an expert kayaker here so I'm hesitant to even respond but here's my two cents. I have a Remix 59 and I love it. I'm 5'10 and weigh about 155 with size 10 feet (and I'm female). So I'm bigger than you and I prefer the 59 over the 69. It just feels like it fits better and I can handle it better.

That being said, I only use it for river running and big water. I don't use it as a creeker or to carry much gear. It's too small for that and I'm in the market for a true creek boat for those things. When I was considering using the Remix as more of an all-around boat, including some easier creaking, I had a 69.

Hope that helps.
