I'm putting together a new boat and need all the ideas for rigging I can get. So, do me a favor and post tons of photos and descriptions of how you roll. Tell me what works, what doesn't, and anything you'd do differently.

Thanks!

Question: It appears that your bimini brackets are very close to your oar stands, and I'm wondering how the oar geometry works for you. This could be an optical illusion resulting from the camera angle but it looks like the two center supports might interfere with your rowing motion? I'm asking because I'm about to install one myself and where to place those brackets is my first decision.

Yes I have since changed the location to behind the oar towers. This was a hasty install for trial run with the Amazon bimini.
The Tangerine Dream is ready to go! Rigged for day tripping right now. I change out to shoal cut blades for fishing. I've got a 4 bay setup for overnights.

Just class 3. Lol
Jagarundi? How long is your frame? Any issues with the cooler box sitting so high?

It is a jag. 120” frame. It’s all new so I wont know on the cooler for a bit. It was snowing a couple days ago here. Could be a bit high in an upstream wind. I haven’t had any problems with my yeti sitting that high in my 160dd.
Who else is having a bit of spring fever and getting things done on your rig for the season?

i lengthened my side rails and reorganized my modular frame to have a large front bay. Currently building side boards and hatch cover

I am a total rookie at anything wood working related, but managed to get a decent result out of these. I used MDO, lots of routing and hole saw’ing and some knock of SeaDek from Amazon. I’d like to purchase another set of the material for the hatch cover, but I may see how it holds up throughout the summer. Every time I float it’ll have a paco over the front area for passenger comfort.

here’s to being able to comfortably walk up and down the sides of the boat and strap more gear down on trips.

cheers

Here's my work in progress! Star Slice XL, simple two-bay breakdown frame from Whitewater Machine Works with bimini mounts, Sawyer Polecats with Gilman grips, Canyon Oarlocks, RTIC ultralight 52 cooler with modified cushion, and the bimini was a gift. Still making some adjustments. Custom cam straps should be here any day, before I hit the New River gorge in two weeks! View attachment 68990 View attachment 68991 View attachment 68992
I'm building a frame for my slice XL too. What size oars did you end up using? Imy oar locks are right at 62" wide, thought my sweet spot would be 8'6" but can't seem to get any...might have to bump up to 9'.

I use 8'-3" on my 61" wide dory, but your towers may be taller than mine?

I ended up getting some 9' counterbalanced as I had a trip last weekend and needed to boat rigged. They are a touch long, but honestly once I got used to it they row great.
^^^ why 3 motors? Sorry if that's a dumb question.
For performance, duh.

I had the Honda 5 first, got the twoMerc 5 for really cheap but it wasn’t running so I fixed it.

Got the 20 to make 3 day cat trips feasible and lake cruising. Keeping the Honda 5 for Westwater trips, maybe Deso and longer Cat trips. Gonna run the 20 for the summer and see if it’s worth hanging on to. It needs quite a bit of work, too.

With that said, I’ll be selling the merc 5 and transom pretty soon if anyone in the Salt Lake area is in the market.

Ha! I need the transom ! I just picked up a 6hp for deso trip end of July. Well be passing through salt lake on way lol! I have a 156r?
