Just wanted to get some info on the different gauges on the Poudre. I know about the Rock and that that's the main gauge. I have CRC II so I am familiar with what levels are good on that gauge.

I've seen some stuff about the "sportsman" gauge. Where is it? I've never been to the area and will be there next week so sopecifics would be nice. What sections do people use that guage for? What are the levels you should look for on it?

Big south gauge. Anything different thatn what's in CRC II?

Thanks

Sportsman's is the Spencer Heights gauge. 2.5ft is low but doable, 3ft is about optimal. This gauge is located across from the Sportsman's lodge, downstream just a short ways from the takeout. It was 2.1ft yesterday.

The Big South gauge is the same gauge as what's in CRC II. This gauge washed away last year and was placed back in position during spring runoff last year, so it may be slightly off from CRC II. It is located on the river-right bank of the river, just upstream from HW14 bridge and can be seen from the downstream-most site in the BS campground. Medium flow on the Big South is roughly between 2-3ft on this gauge. It was 1.75ft on Saturday and dropping.

The Pine View gauge is the one used for anything from Rustic down to the canyon mouth. This is the rock with orange painting located in Pine View falls, just up from the Bridges put-in. As of noon today, the level on the rock was 2ft and dropping. A medium flow for lower canyon runs (Narrows down to Filter Plant) is roughly 2.75ft-3.75ft.
