I am wanting to purchase a playboat....not sure if I want to go 100% yet so I am looking for something I can run down river and also play with the same boat on the same day.
I am 6'3" 210 so room is an issue. I have talked with boaters and Jackson Super Fun comes up. Knowing the wealth of experience you boaters have out there is there any thoughts on a dual function type boat....?

I'm 6'4", 210lbs, 35" inseam and paddle a 4fun and love it. Sure, we're at the top of the weight range, but you don't get a playboat for stability. Get a boat that you can grow into. It will be more of a challenge at first, but you'll be glad you didn't get something bigger.

I regularly run the Royal Gorge in it without issues.

Why not go with Rick Star, Project X or something else that's more of a true playboat. They run rivers just fine and are more playful.

Just seems like if you get a fun series type boat you will wish you had a true playboat a year down the road or instantly.

Demo them down river and see what you think.

It goes up to 250. I know many people in the 220 range that paddle one. From the play park to big water class IV. Demo one. Also don't limit your self to Jackson, lots of good playboats out there. I just happen to like their playboats. I'm bigger than you so I have to roll with a the Monstar, more of a creeker than a playboat lol. Someday I'll do a Middle Fork self support out of her.

Yes it's primary play for sure. I was joking since it's like 72 gallons, it's huge but when you are 6'-5" and like 240lbs the rock star doesn't work well. I did paddle a super star for while but with my weight and 36" inseam I was way stern heavy. After 4 days of high water Lochsa I upgraded to the Monstar. The super star wouldn't trim out surfing and when I rolled up, I would roll into a stern stall. Not fun after the first couple times on a 20,000cfs river.

I'm about 215 in gear and 6'1" with size 12's. I paddle a Jitsu 6.0 down river (10+ miles pretty often).

I'm a horrible playboater but I like paddling my playboat up to class IV when it isn't high water.

Not at all. I haven't done many high water runs in it but #'s above 1000 and Dumont at 500 has been super fun
