Here's the notice:

Following guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and recommendations from state and local public health authorities, Vale BLM is temporarily closing all campgrounds and boat launches to limit the spread of the virus. The health and safety of staff and visitors at these facilities is our number one priority.

Owyhee River Shuttle Drivers: Effective today, March 25, 2020, the BLM Vale District is closing all developed camping facilities and boat launches in Malheur County and along the Owyhee River until further notice. Please continue with moving vehicles and shuttles that will facilitate your Customers to get OFF the Owyhee River. We recommend canceling shuttles for new river customers starting TODAY until further notice. We appreciate your cooperation and will contact you when conditions change.

Owyhee River Outfitters: Effective today, March 25, 2020, the BLM Vale District is closing all developed camping facilities and boat launches in Malheur County and on the Owyhee River until further notice. We appreciate your cooperation and will contact you when conditions change.

Visitors may continue to enjoy BLM trails and open space areas while following the CDC’s guidance:
- Practice social distancing.
- Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds.
- Cover your mouth and nose when you cough or sneeze.
- Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth.
- Most importantly, please stay home if you feel sick.

Please “pack it in and pack it out,” as trash collection may be limited in some areas.

Closures begin 3/25/2020 and campgrounds and Boat ramps will be signed.

can anyone confirm or deny if the BLM Rome launch site is closed or open now? Tried to call the BLM today no answer at the Rome launch phone and the Vale District phone. You would think that they could just put the status of the Rome launch on the actual voice mail message for the Rome launch office, which is this number: 541-586-2612
Thanks for any info.

According to the person that answered the phone at the Vale District this morning on June 1, the answer to the question is "not yet".
