I am going to be in and out of Oregon most of this summer. I will be mapping landslides and debris-flows all over but mostly the Coast Range. Anyone going to be there that wants to boat. Also, any idea of the season. I have not done any research on the boating season or scene there yet so any info is new to me. I would really like to pick up a good boating guide book, any ideas?
Thanks!

I will be in and out of Oregon all summer starting in the middle of may. I will be more in the southern region. A good guide book for creeks is a book called soggy sneakers. It is considered by most in oregon to be the "bible" of oregon kayaking. Also, check out www.oregonkayaking.net A cool site I came accross a little while ago.
The main season is January until Julyish depending on water, but stuff can usually be found throughout the summer. If you get down to the medford area there is an epic wave in the spring when the water is right.

I will also be there the last couple weeks of May....I'll be in the coast range near the southern end as well. I will probably be mostly in Lane/Douglas/Coos counties. Maybe we could hook up?

Just moved to Portland from Fort Collins about 3 months ago- the winter kayaking rocks here, but it's a bit cold. Soggy Sneakers is the local book, and if you're in the area, I can tag along for some runs.

Is the whole month of may prime for the goods in oregon/washington? or is hit or miss with the rain? Looking at little white salmon, canyon creek, etc. What about northern cali, is the snow gone mid may?
