I'm 6'3 and 230 lbs. How would the "Y" be for me in the steeps and bigger creeks? Any general observations on the boat would be awesome! Thanks :?:

I think some people thought the Y was a little large for tight creeks but with your size and doing steeper stuff that it could be a good match. The only way to know is to demo one and decide if it is right for you.

I like edgy creek boats with a more volume than I need for my weight. I only weigh like 175, 5'9. I think the Y is a great boat for smaller volume creeks, although I love the CFS better (now extinct). The Y is fast on edge and has great chines for carving in and out of eddy's and ferrying. Fred Z paddles his Y and i think he is a big fan. He runs some shiat in it.

The guy to talk to is Ben Kadas, find @ boatertalk

Ben is a pro guide who buys boats like Amelda Marcos buys shoes. The dude has been in EVERY kind of boat you can imagine, and gives GREAT detailed reviews of the boats.

He will be able to give you all the beta you need to decide if the Y is right for you.
