Any of you have experience with Artisan Metal Works in Flagstaff? They have some pretty odd but innovative oar towers that I am considering.

I made a pair based on his design (I assume you're talking about the in-line pipe style) but used 1 1/4" pipe and low-pros instead of a speedrail fitting. I'm happy with them, but I chose that style because it was easy for me to DIY, which in turn allowed me to play with the lock height and angle for my set up.

I have exchanged emails with the proprietor and he was very helpful to me, including sending pictures. I think he follows this site so you might hear from him at some point.

Thanks. I talked with someone at the shop on the phone today. I got my questions answered and they sound good, I just wanted to get some opinions on their products.

I did a Grand trip last summer and the boats we rented used their frames and oar towers. Bomber setup, no complaints.

I'm a bit biased towards them having lived in Flagstaff for 30 years. They make outstanding quality river gear. I have never had any issue with any of the custom items I have had made. Top quality and thoughtful designs!

Classy reply Tim. Artisan does a ton of work for GC outfitters and their products are bomber. Nick made me a custom dual battery tray for my truck and I'm stoked on it! They are busy boys, so for custom work plan ahead!
