Date and Time: May 29th 10:00am-12:00pm

Location: Number 1 to Number 5, the race length is roughly 1 ¼ miles (Subject to water level)

$25 per per paddler

Who: A limit of 60 Kayakers and Canoeists who must have solid Class IV paddling experience
Mens Long Boat (9ft and longer), Mens Short Boat (under 9ft), and Women's Open (all boats)

Why:Because Kayaking is the greatest thing ever and why not?

Other Information:Early Registration is $25 and Late registration is $40 (only if not sold out in advance). Contestants will meet at the AHRA Numbers put in and float from there to just above Number One. On shore there will be race organizers and this will be the official start of the race. At 10am we will start releasing racers (time trial, not head to head) at 1 minute intervals to race in a time trial format. They will race from here to the eddy at 5.5 on river left. They will finish when the bow of their boat touches the shore. Award Ceremony to follow at South Main Square.

We are being asked to start small in 2016 ( 60 paddlers ) and offer a safe and quality DR race for class 4 plus paddlers. It should be really fun and good opp. for Colorado paddlers to test their abilities together. And it brings some new excitement to the weekend's activities in BV.

All the more reason for some folks to step up to help with safety the first year. We want the AHRA to look favorably on the event. I would love to see a 3 tiered event down the road with a Numbers race, a Fractions race and then the Race to the Grill on the Milk Run with a circuit award for the racer to earn the most points through all 3 races...
