The below Granite gauge is over 300 again. Was almost down to 200 this past week.

USGS Current Conditions for USGS 07087050 ARKANSAS RIVER BELOW GRANITE, CO

This makes for much more fluid boating on the Numbers (duh) and opens the Fractions back up. Paddled Miner's Campground to the BV playpark last evening. Long at low water but fun and beautiful. Sunset on the divide and the red rock at Elephant Rock and Turtle Head going off. Saw 10 bighorn sheep a couple days ago and a bear cruizin next to the rio last night. Quality boating still to be had on the Ark.

Hi Phil,
What is the river rated between Miner's Campground and the play park? I've just started paddling this year and am running class 2 - 3, mostly on the Chama and Rio Grande.
Thanks,
Peter

There's a lot of class 2ish stuff in there but I would call it mostly busy, non pushy class 3. Really good stuff to improve your skills on.

Its maybe a half mile above the AHRA railroad bridge campsite/river access. The traditional? Fractions putin. Both spots are fully visible from the river left road above the tunnels. Does that get you there?

Just got back from another great Numbers trip with who else but Mr. Phil U. Nothing quite like making a few dollars and getting to run the river in the same day! Thanks for the invite Phil......oh yeah, up to 393!
