I was wondering if anybody has ever use NRS 4 lbs. counterweights on 9 foot oars. I recent injury has left me wondering if these could help. The nrs websites says use the counterweights for oars over 9 ft. Any feedback?

Cataract

NRS sells cataract counterweights, and they are great. I use them on my 9.5 oars, and also before I put extensions on them when they were 8.5'. Can't row without them, too tiring.

Yes, they will sink some oars. I've heard of people filling their carlisle oars with some foam to give them buoyancy, but I haven't bothered yet. Sawyers shouldn't sink, since they are wood, and no idea about cataract.
