North wash take out. rated M

Howdy everyone, wondering if anyone has had eyes on the north wash take out in the last month or so. We are planning on launching 2 snout boats from there for a lake Powell trip to shakedown our snouts (northwash to page). Im aware that it is steep, but was curious if there was a giant mud flat between the channel and the ramp...

Thanks for the input

We could start a go fund me account and have United Rentals drop off a bulldozer. I'd pitch in to watch E/M learn how to run the thing. 🐴

haha... I didn't see your comment till just now.... but I'm down.
I reckon she’s done-zo.

Going to be very interesting to see what happens down there this year with the biggest runoff in at least 4 years

Pm @BGillespie

maybe a Honda 5 and 20 depending how much money you got.
pm @me

looks like sandstone bedrock at the bot roof the ramp. Is it sustainable to build a real ramp on that? Or will that be the next Paiute falls?

FWIW, the word on the street is BuWreck is filling all the reservoirs upstream that they emptied to prop up the cash register dam at Glen Canyon. There's a LOT of water needed for Flaming Gorge and Blue mesa alone, likely more than the runoff will produce.. So, high water will likely be more than what was last year, but it's not likely to be a banner year downstream of the dams.. At least the Colorado is relatively unimpeded, so hopefully we'll see the teens in Westwater..

That being said, I DO hope I'm wrong..

Anybody recall what the high water was in 2011?

I know it got to ~55k in 2017

While Utah is FAT with water this year, most of that banner snowpack will not make it into the Colorado

80k-ish ish if you add green river and Cisco. Looks like they peaked 6/10-6/15

Just piling on to Returning Rapids pics from when we floated by a few days ago:

The GoPro wide-angle wonk makes it look a lot less steep than it really is.

I drifted ~50 yards past the ramp before getting out to walk up in a different/easier spot.

I did a 1 day Cat trip on a sport boat called the Floodstage in June that year at 77,000. Was awesome!
Are those skis strapped to the side of the boat in the pic?

Definitely some Voile skis on the side of the packraft(?), sans bindings (threaded inserts?) - would love to hear about this desert ski/float mission!

Given the poster, I'd have expected to see a bicycle strapped to it ...

That's a sick boat.
Projections of end of water year 2023 elevation using the April minimum and maximum inflow forecast results are 3,564.55 feet and 3,606.71 feet, respectively.
.

A bunch of Holiday guides are headed down with shovels to try to make it slightly more feasible for use.
