Im looking for a new paddle, but not sure what size to get for playboating as well as the off set. I am 5'8'' 160lb and paddle a crazy 88 6.3. Currently have a Werner (2001) player 194 small shaft. I know I like the small shaft, but wondering about going smaller in length.

What don't you like about your current paddle? The Player 194 from Werner is a great playboating paddle. The trend a few year ago was to go shorter and shorter. Now it's going the other direction for sure.

EJ is close to 5'8" and paddles a 201cm paddle. Ken Whiting is 6'3" and uses a 206cm paddle. Corran Addison is 5'8" and uses a 188cm paddle. I'm 6' and use a 197, 194, or a 191cm paddle depending on which one I grab that day. The rules to remember are that a shorter paddle travels faster through the water and can be easier to move around your body. A longer paddle gives you more power. The argument might be: why would you want less power for playboating?

What don't you like now?
