I've just started kayaking (I've been a raft captain for years) and I got myself an older kayak-a riot 007. It came with a l'eau vive skirt. Problem is the skirt is in pretty bad shape AND I can't get it on my boat. Sad, I know. It's not like any of the other skirts I've seen that stretch around the inlet of the boat. This one is obviously old and seems to want to curl the wrong was and has a thick stretchy cord around the end that looks like it should be pulled up under a rim or something, but that makes no sense to me. Any advice would be very welcome...as to how to use the damn thing or as to where to get a good quality skirt that would not break the bank. Please help!

Sounds like it's just an old skirt that needs replacing. For a new one check the swap on here, craigslist, and NRS has some on sale but with limited sizing. BTW, for a water-tight seal it should be hard to put on.
